In the process, she inspires others to overcome their challenges and find their purpose. Throughout the story, the lively cast of animal characters and scenes bring life to the story as Dorothy shares her journey from fearful moose to college-educated ballerina with the support of her caregiver, teachers, family, and friends. A feel-good story that will inspire both children and adults to forget the nay-sayers and pursue their dreams. Like Dorothy, you can “Dance Your Dance, Sing Your Song.”
After overcoming challenges and realizing her dream of attending college to study dance, Dorothy Paad was faced with yet another challenge she least expected – a pandemic. Immunocompromised and isolated in her home to protect her health, Dorothy struggled with new fears and the loss of her newfound purpose of attending college and studying dance. Uncertain of what lay ahead during a growing pandemic, Dorothy was inspired by family and friends to explore yet another purpose – writing. Realizing that life is filled with opportunities to do amazing things, Dorothy took the leap and brought her love of dance to the written word with her new children’s book. The story, which takes place in a world of college-bound animals, shares Dorothy’s own experiences as an individual with disabilities trying to find her own place in the world. By combining her love for working with children, helping others, and studying dance, the author created a book to remind us we only need to listen to our own hearts, be ourselves, and follow our dreams with Dance Your Dance, Sing Your Song.
